Two aluminium coils of the same width are unrolled, flattened and brushed simultaneously
On the lower strip, a circuit of channels is imprinted by means of a screen printing technology. The two strips are heated to a temperature of about 400 °C in two continuous furnaces, and subsequently coupled and hot rolled at a pressure of 600 tons.
Upon exiting the hot rolling mill, the two strips are perfectly joined together and, after an annealing phase at a temperature of roughly 450 °C, the strip is cooled, dried and cut into equal length plates. An automatic press inflates the Roll-Bond panels on a production line, which are subsequently cut to size with automated cutting lines or laser cutting machines.
The complete production flexibility of Roll-Bond technology allows to create an unlimited number of ducts, making the heat exchangers suitable for multiple applications. Mainly used in the refrigeration sector, Roll-Bond technology was also recently extended to air conditioning, automotive industry, renewable energy, electronics and many other sectors.
